Oversea’s CSC Members Commend CSC In Solomon Islands

THE Community of the Sisters of the Church (CSC) in the Province of Melanesia, Solomon Islands is growing.

This was revealed by most of the visiting members of the Sisters of the Church (CSC) during their recent general chapter held at TNK from the 14th to the 28th September 2014.

Head of the Community of the Sisters of the Church (CSC), Sr. Kathleen Kapei, also said that other provinces of the CSC are now looking to the CSC in the Province of Solomon Islands who can hold on to the Ministry in the near future.

She said, Members of the CSC in three other provinces namely Australia, Canada and UK, are small in numbers and consists of only old Sisters at the age of 40 and above.

According to Sr. Kathleen, the community in Australia has seven (7) sisters, Canada has five (5) sisters, UK has more than twenty (20) while Solomon Islands has more than 40 members in the community.

Sr. Kathleen also mentioned that with the increasing number of life Profess members in the community made it clearer that the community is growing in the Solomon Islands.

With the inclusion of the two newly blessed members in the community into life profession, the CSC in Solomon Islands now has 10 life profess sisters.

Around fifty (50) members of the community of the sisters of the church attended the general chapter on a theme: ‘who are we and who are we becoming’.
