DOT Jointly Owns Luesaleba School

THE joint ownership and management of Luesaleba Secondary School (LSSB) on Santa Cruz Island in the Temotu Province signifies another milestone in the development in the education within the Anglican Church of Melanesia.

The development was sealed on Monday the 8th day of June 2015.

The ownership and management of the school is now between The Temotu Provincial Government (TPG) and The Anglican Church in the Diocese of Temotu (DOT).

The goal in this partnership agreement is to develop Luesaleba Secondary school into a fully equipped catchment secondary school offering secondary education in forms one to seven to our children in Temotu Province. We made the agreement on this “joint ownership and management” of the school after we had many discussions on these urgent issues confronting Luesaleba Secondary school and our Education Authority in Temotu Province.

A statement in the MOU said, “we now commit the work of carrying it out under the blessing and guiding hands of the Almighty God for successful implementation to bring about the desired education to our children in Temotu for today and in the future”.

The partnership eventuates after the 14th General synod of the Church approved the partnership.
