PCC General Assembly

Anglican Church of Melanesia (ACOM) under the umbrella body of the Solomon Islands Christian Association (SICA) in early March played a vital role in hosting the two ecumenical meetings of the churches – the World Council of Churches (WCC) and Pacific Conference of Churches (PCC) General Assembly.
About 200 delegates from the 34 member Churches in the Pacific became part of this great event with representatives from the World Council of Churches meeting here in Honiara.
The theme for this 1Oth General Conference is: “Act justly: Love mercy: Walk humbly with your God” founded in Micah 6:8.
Pacific Conference of Churches is a fellowship of Pacific Island member Churches promoting ecumenism, unity, justice, peace integrity of creation and solidarity during times of natural disasters and social upheavals.
The one week conference is also an opportunity for different denominations to worship together in our churches and to share in fellowship in the activities that we are called upon to participate.
The General Assembly proper begun on the 3rd to the 10th of March at the newly built leaf hut beside the Provincial Cathedral Saint Barnabas Cathedral.
SICA would like to thank the Taiwanese Government for being a major sponsor to this event.
