Hanuato’o Successfully Host 8th Diocesan Synod And Youth Convention

THE Diocese of Hanuato’o (DOH) has successfully concluded their 8th Diocesan Synod and youth & Sunday School Convention at St. Stephen Chapel – Pamua Community College on Sunday the 1st of December 2013.

The two events that was officially opened on Sunday the 24th of November was preceded by a Holy Eucharistic Service where the Diocesan Bishop who is also the chairman to this synod – The Right Rev. Alfred Karibongi is the chief celebrant and Reverend Fred Seda who is the Guest of honor to this 8th Diocesan synod preached to a packed congregation who witnessed the ceremony.

In his sermon, Reverend Seda highlighted the need to make good decision in everything we plan and do in order to achieve our goal.

One hundred and two 102 synod participants from the 15 parishes in the Diocese and more than two hundred (200) youth and Sunday school representatives from around the dioceses including representatives from the Diocese of Central Melanesia attended the two church events.

Diocesan synod is taking place at Pamua Secondary school compound, while Youth and Sunday school convention is held at Pamua RTC Re-location site at a newly built Canon Lonsdale haus.

Canon Lonsdale haus is a newly built leaf house that was officially built to accommodate youth program.

The youths and Sunday school representatives learn about culture, law and order, community governance, health awareness and youth and evangelism during this one week event.
