Be Pragmatic: Archbishop David Told New Facilitators

THE Archbishop of the Church of Melanesia COM, the Most Reverend David Vunagi told the eighteen newly graduating facilitators to be pragmatic in their new responsibility as Positive Parenting Facilitators and work towards bridging the different components of human developments.
He made the statements at the official closing ceremony of the facilitators Training at St. Barnabas Cathedral’s hall yesterday.
“We want you to be practical in what you have gained from the two week training;” Archbishop said.
He said; the training that you had received has equipped you well to carry out the task. You must willingly translate the skills and knowledge you have acquired in your training to develop and further the parenting program.
“You must equally address behavioral, spiritual, cultural, social and the physical aspects of human developments,” he urged the graduates.
Positive Parenting Program helps one to learn more about the nature of relationships between parents and children – understanding the role of parents in their children’s lives at different stages of development and to be fully aware of the influence of family life spiral.
As he conveys his personal congratulation to the graduating facilitators, Archbishop David also acknowledges the support of the Parishes within the Diocese of Central Melanesia for taking the program seriously.
“I am pleased to see that Parishes have taken the program off the ground”, he said.
“Please know that we will depend on you to make a difference by reducing tension in the life of families in the Church, Society and nation”, Archbishop David concluded.
This is the second group of facilitators that underwent Positive Parenting Training in the Diocese of Central Melanesia.
All eighteen graduates came from the Parishes and institutions with in the Diocese.
