Proposed Academic Colleges
The university plans to establish several colleges, including:
Theological College
Teachers Training College
Nursing and Public Health Sciences College
Agribusiness College
Senior Secondary College (included in later development plans)

Campus Development
The main campus is being developed on Kosu (Koku) land in Central Guadalcanal, near Honiara. Construction of the first administration building began in 2024 and is part of a broader master plan that includes lecture rooms, student accommodation, staff housing, and other university facilities. The project is supported through fundraising by the Anglican Church of Melanesia, government partnerships, and donor contributions.

Why the University is Named John Coleridge Patteson
The university is named after John Coleridge Patteson (1827–1871)the first Anglican Bishop of Melanesia. An English missionary and gifted linguist, he devoted his life to serving the people of Melanesia, learning numerous local languages and establishing Christian education throughout the region. He was killed at Nukapu in the Solomon Islands in 1871 and is remembered as a martyr of the Anglican Church.
